A small confinement, or 小月子, is a quiet period of rest and warmth observed after a pregnancy loss. Rooted in traditional Chinese wisdom, it holds a simple belief: that a body and a heart which have carried a pregnancy deserve to be kept warm, nourished gently, and allowed to rest.
Over two weeks, a daily soup keeps that quiet care going. Each is an individually portioned blend of dried herbs and botanicals, traditionally used during confinement, ready to simmer gently at home.
The soups are sequenced to move with you. The earliest days lean towards warmth, and as the days go on they become more deeply nourishing. It is a gentle rhythm that takes the guesswork out of caring for yourself, so you can simply rest and be looked after.
Our signature confinement soups are traditionally crafted from 37 different herbs and botanicals. Each recipe is perfectly balanced to reflect the natural rhythm of recovery.

A small confinement, or 小月子, is its gentler, shorter version of the full confinement month.
Rooted in traditional Chinese wisdom, it holds that a body and a heart which have carried a pregnancy deserve to be kept warm, nourished, and allowed to rest, however that pregnancy ended.
In Chinese thinking, the body after a pregnancy is seen as depleted and in need of warmth, which is why this time leans on warming foods and rest. Even when a pregnancy ends early, your body has still been through real change, as the hormones that rose to carry it gradually fall away again.

“A beautifully considered approach to recovery that puts the mother at the centre.”
Each soup package includes individually packed dried herbal blends, one for each day (the 14-day package includes 14 individual packs).
Every pack is pre-measured and designed to be prepared fresh at home.
Our standard packages follow the full confinement month, the traditional thirty-day recovery. This one is made for a small confinement (小月子), the gentler, shorter period that tradition sets aside after a pregnancy loss.
So instead of the full thirty days, it is a curated selection of two weeks of daily soups from across the recovery stages, chosen and sequenced for this time. It is the same traditional care, made gentler for your recovery.
Our soups are not pre-cooked. Each pack contains a measured blend of premium dried herbs. To enjoy the full benefits, the confinement soup herbs need to be simmered at home following our simple preparation instructions.
The result? A fresh, nourishing soup made right in your own kitchen. No preservatives, no additives, just real ingredients and traditional care.
Each soup pack is designed for one day, to complement a balanced diet.
It provides 2 to 3 servings and can be enjoyed throughout the day, ideally split between morning, afternoon and evening.
It’s important to consume the soups in the recommended sequence, one pack per day, to ensure your body receives the right support at the right time
Customers report generous portions that stretch across multiple meals, with flexibility to adjust based on your appetite.

Based on customer reviews, new parents consistently report that preparation is simple enough for partners with no cooking experience to handle daily.
First-time users with no traditional cooking experience report excellent results following the included instructions.
Yes, our soup packages are completely vegetarian. They’re made with 100% plant-based herbs and contain no garlic or onion. You don’t need to add meat when preparing them, though the flavour will naturally be lighter and more herbal.
For a balanced flavour, use vegetable stock and add ingredients such as tofu, mushrooms, carrots, corn, lotus root — or any other protein and vegetables you enjoy.
To maintain the freshness and quality of your premium herbal products, please store them with care:
The shelf life is up to 1 year.
Contains peanuts, tree nuts (walnuts) and soy.
All ingredients are clearly listed on each soup label.
Our herbs come from China's traditional growing regions, the heartlands where each ingredient has been cultivated for generations. Sourcing directly from China lets us access herbs from their authentic growing regions, where climate, soil and traditional cultivation practices all contribute to quality. It also gives us better consistency, traceability and selection than sourcing through secondary distributors or non-native growing regions.
Every herb is batch-tested and supplied with a Certificate of Analysis (COA), which verifies safety and quality, including testing for heavy metals and microbial levels. And for every herb we import into Australia, the relevant documentation is submitted as part of the import process, with shipments subject to inspection or testing by Australian authorities to ensure they meet strict safety standards.
